Though much of the work is not visible from the outside, the interior of the building is taking shape with new walls, floors, ceiling and infrastructure, and the expanded ground floor has been created in the west addition.

As we move into the spring semester, we are pleased to report significant progress on the renovation of the Ruth S. Harley ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center.

As we approach the six month mark of the renovation of the Ruth S. Harley ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center, we see the major transformation beginning to take shape. From outside the construction fence, it can be hard to tell just how much progress has been made, so we’re pleased to offer this UC Progress update on the activities that have been completed to date.

Now that the Panthers’ Den Dining Hall has been open for a full school week, we are pleased to report that the community’s overall feedback has been positive. We have heard that you enjoy the temporary dining hall’s atmosphere, location, service and many of the options being served.  

We know that this has been a much-anticipated announcement and are pleased to report that the Panthers' Den Dining Hall has now completed all its required steps to formally open as one of our two main dining halls on campus during the renovation of our Ruth S. Harley ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center.

In response to feedback from our community, the lunch menu at the tent in The Quad will feature new options and more vegetables this week. As always, there is a vegan option available daily Monday through Friday and gluten free buns and bread are available. Lunch in the tent is free for students all week (Monday through Friday) and free for faculty and staff on Friday.

We’re so excited that the new academic year is under way, and Adelphi ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥is bustling with activity again! We hope you are finding your way to classes and meetings and to the many dining options located throughout the campus.

With summer nearing an end, I am pleased to report significant progress on the renovation of the Ruth S. Harley ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center. If you have been on campus this summer, you have undoubtedly noticed changes on campus.

Learn by doing is the approach Mark Grabowski, JD, associate professor of communications, takes in his Web Journalism course. One video story made by students Gabriella Marra and Nicole Garcia showcased Adelphi's plans to renovate the Ruth S. Harley ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center.

With Commencement rapidly approaching, it will soon be time to close the Ruth S. Harley ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center for major renovations that will convert the building into a state-of-the-art, light-filled center for student and academic life at Adelphi.

All offices and services currently located in the ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center (UC) have been or will be temporarily relocated by May 21.

As we quickly approach the start of our renovation of the Ruth S. Harley ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center (UC), you may recall from previous communications that the ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥plans to build a temporary dining structure on the lawn between Blodgett Hall and Levermore Hall to handle much of our UC dining needs during the construction period.

After meeting with members of our community, hearing your comments and working with our architects, we have identified what will move forward and what modifications we will be making to our design.

Sharing a reminder about our updated schedule and announcing some very good news about dining.

Our project team continues compiling and working to answer the many questions that have been submitted by you about the Ruth S. Harley ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center renovation.

Meetings, activities, office use and dining at the ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center won’t be affected by construction until after Commencement in May 2019.

I’d like to thank the students, faculty and staff who came to our ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Forum last Monday, November 5, to hear updates and ask questions about the Ruth S. Harley ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center project.

As promised, I would like to share our next update regarding some of the temporary changes we will all need to make in the New Year as the renovation of the Ruth S. Harley ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center (UC) progresses. As you probably expect, the project is a big one, and it’s going to have an impact on the important spaces and services that our UC currently provides.

As you know, this spring we will begin to renovate the existing Ruth S. Harley ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center to reflect the changing needs of our University. Our goal is to communicate with you each week as updates are made available.

The ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥has kept the Adelphi student body in the loop regarding the fact that the Ruth S. Harley ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center (UC), home to administrative offices, student organizations, lounges, and dining and conference facilities, will be undergoing major, state-of-the-art renovations.

As we await final approval from New York state to begin the Ruth S. HarleyUniversity Center (UC) renovation, I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the work of our Faculty Advisory Panels, Student Advisory Panels, and the many other faculty, staff and students who offered their expertise and ideas for the project.

Adelphi learned in June that we will receive a $5 million Higher Education Capital (HECap) Matching Grant from New York State to help finance the renovation of the Ruth S. Harley ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center.

As Adelphi's student body grows, and as more students choose to live on campus, renovating the Ruth S. Harley ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center has become a key goal for the University.

A quick update on our plans for renovating the Ruth S. Harley ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥Center and information on other academic improvements at Adelphi.

Sixty years ago, Adelphi ¶¶ÒõÖ±²¥commissioned a campus master plan and, a few years later, built a library designed by one of the 20th century's most notable architects: Richard Neutra.
